Specifications are from Lenovo PSREF (July 24, 2026) and the linked Amazon listing, checked October 19, 2026. PSREF rates both the RTX 5060 and the RTX 5070 at 115W TGP. The RTX 5070 option was added in July and is paired only with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470; Tom's Hardware reported it at $3,375 on Best Buy.

Gaming Performance (RTX 5060 version)

These results are for the RTX 5060 8GB configuration, the only one tested so far. Ultrabookreview ran its games in Performance mode at 2560×1600, where the GPU settled around 95W; 115W is reachable only in Lenovo's manual mode. Notebookcheck measured 56.2 fps in Cyberpunk 2077 at QHD Ultra and 12,071 points in 3DMark Time Spy Graphics in Performance mode. LaptopMedia recorded 96 fps in Shadow of the Tomb Raider (High) and 63 fps in Metro Exodus Enhanced (High) at 1600p.

The RTX 5070 version should be faster and its 12GB of VRAM helps in newer games at 1440p, but we do not estimate how much. Notebookcheck noted that the RTX 5060 model is slightly slower than the previous Legion 7 Gen 10, so check new tests before paying the RTX 5070 premium.

Processor

The Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 scored 23,946 points in Cinebench R23 multi-core in Notebookcheck's test, which found it behind the Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX in the older Legion 7 Gen 10. It runs at 85W sustained. Ultrabookreview reports it can exceed 90°C at 80W+ sustained loads.

The OLED Display

Both reviewed units use a 16-inch 2560×1600 240Hz glossy OLED. Notebookcheck measured about 500 nits average SDR brightness and 99.2% DCI-P3; Ultrabookreview measured about 497 nits and 100% DCI-P3; LaptopMedia measured 495 nits SDR and about 1060 nits HDR peak. All three detected PWM flicker below full brightness. The glossy coating is highly reflective (LaptopMedia), so this panel suits controlled lighting better than a bright room.

Battery Life

The 84Wh battery lasted 5 hours 19 minutes in LaptopMedia's video playback test at 180 nits. Ultrabookreview estimates 9–10 hours of fullscreen video and 4–7 hours of web browsing in Quiet mode at about 120 nits, and under an hour of gaming. These figures come from the RTX 5060 model; the RTX 5070 version may draw more under load.

Noise & Thermals

Notebookcheck measured 53 dB(A) while gaming in Performance mode, 46.5 dB(A) in Auto and 41.3 dB(A) in Quiet, and calls the fans loud in games. Ultrabookreview measured about 45 dBA in Performance mode at head level and reports CPU/GPU temperatures in the mid-to-high 70s °C while gaming on a stand, with most exterior surfaces under 30°C.

Is the RTX 5070 Version Worth It?

Only if you specifically want this chassis. The RTX 5060 version started around $2,079–2,399 in reviews; the RTX 5070 listing linked here costs far more through a third-party seller. For the same money, full-power RTX 5080 laptops are available, and our thin-and-light guide lists lighter-chassis alternatives such as the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16. If weight matters most and you can find the RTX 5060 version at a fair price, it delivers the same screen and build.

Pros
  • Under 1.8kg with a 16-inch 240Hz OLED
  • 500-nit SDR, near-100% DCI-P3 panel (measured on the RTX 5060 model)
  • RTX 5070 with 12GB VRAM option
  • Sturdy aluminum chassis, two USB4 ports
Cons
  • No published tests of the RTX 5070 version yet
  • Soldered RAM, PWM flicker, glossy reflective screen
  • Loud fans in Performance mode (53 dB(A), Notebookcheck)
  • Large price premium; Amazon US units are third-party only
Our Verdict
The Legion 7a Gen 11 is a well-built, light OLED gaming laptop. The RTX 5070 version is promising but untested, and on Amazon US it is priced against much faster laptops. Buy it for portability and the screen, not for frame rates per dollar.

Benchmark context

All measurements on this page come from the RTX 5060 8GB configuration (Ryzen AI 9 HX 470, 32GB LPDDR5X, same OLED panel). Sources: Notebookcheck (April 25, 2026), LaptopMedia (June 16, 2026) and Ultrabookreview (August 28, 2026). RTX 5070 configuration details: Tom's Hardware (July 12, 2026).

A matching chassis does not establish matching performance: GPU, graphics power and cooling behavior change the result. This page will be updated when an exact RTX 5070 test is published.
