Gaming Performance

The embedded game rows cite Clubic’s French test configuration with 16GB DDR5-5200. PC Gamer tested a separate 32GB CVHI3US864SH unit; its memory specification must not be attached to Clubic’s results. Neither establishes that the tested machine is the exact CVHI3US894SH US offer, so we leave the retail configuration unranked.

Display — Resolution and Workspace

The 1920×1200 16:10 IPS panel at 165Hz is a useful differentiator in the budget tier. The extra vertical pixels matter for productivity tasks, and 165Hz is more than adequate for 1080p gaming. Published measurements should be compared only against panels tested with a matching protocol.

Thermals and Fan Noise

Clubic reports approximately 50–51 dB at full load and up to 53°C above the keyboard on its regional test unit. The surface reading is not a CPU or GPU junction temperature. We do not have matching exact-US-unit measurements, so these observations provide context rather than a noise guarantee for CVHI3US894SH.

Battery & Build

The measured configuration uses a 76Wh battery. Runtime varies by graphics mode, brightness, and workload, so it should not be compared with another model unless the test protocol is matched.

Ports cover the basics: three USB-A ports, one USB-C port with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 3.0, HDMI 2.1, Gigabit Ethernet, and a 3.5mm audio jack. There is no SD card reader.

Pros
  • 16-inch display and 1TB storage in the listed configuration
  • 16:10 1920×1200 165Hz display
  • DLSS support; compare rendering modes separately
  • Upgradeable RAM and storage
  • 76Wh listed battery capacity
Cons
  • 85W GPU ceiling; higher-power RTX 5060 designs exist
  • Previous-gen i7-13620H CPU
  • No SD card reader
  • Entry-level plastic build

Is the 16GB Configuration Enough?

Start with the applications you run together. A game with a browser, voice chat and recording software is a different workload from the game alone. Check memory use during your normal session before purchasing an upgrade. More RAM can help when capacity is the constraint; it does not turn an 85W GPU into a higher-power design or guarantee the frame rates from another review.

Before ordering memory, confirm the installed module arrangement and a compatible kit using the exact model's documentation. Account for any installation cost and keep the original configuration details for support. A seller-upgraded listing should state who performed the work and which warranty applies.

Gigabyte A16 vs LOQ and Legion 5

The LOQ versus Gaming A16 comparison is useful when both fit the same budget. Decide first whether you need the Gigabyte's listed 1TB storage immediately, then price any necessary storage work on the competing offer. If the existing drive is sufficient, an upgrade is not a real saving to count.

For games, compare the same preset, resolution and rendering mode. A generated-frame result should not be read as equivalent to a native rendering rate. A higher published power ceiling is worth investigating with measurements, but it does not determine the final experience by itself. Consider screen usability, fan noise in your chosen mode and return terms alongside the game results.

If screen quality matters more than the included SSD capacity, compare the Lenovo Legion 5 OLED. It combines a sharper 2560×1600 display with the same GPU tier, but that higher native resolution is a heavier workload. Choose based on your screen preference and game settings, not the GPU name alone.

Checks During the Return Period

Verify the delivered model code, memory and SSD against the order. Run a repeatable section of a game using the included adapter and record the graphics mode and preset. Check for performance changes after the machine warms up, then test the quieter profile if you intend to use it around other people. Judge the display with your usual work and brightness level; resolution and refresh rate do not establish color accuracy.

The buying verdict

A 16-inch screen and 1TB storage on your shortlist?

The Gaming A16 makes sense when you want a taller workspace and space for a growing game library. Open the offer to compare the RTX 5060, 16GB / 1TB configuration and the seller’s terms with your other options.

Choose it for

A 16:10 IPS screen and 1TB storage without planning an immediate SSD replacement.

Consider another option if

OLED image quality, a more portable chassis or a higher GPU power ceiling is your priority.

Sources and Review Scope

Clubic's 16GB regional test supplies the embedded game evidence and attributed noise observations. PC Gamer's separate 32GB review concerns CVHI3US864SH. Rechecked September 8, 2026. Current price, stock and exact-US-unit thermal performance are not verified here.
